My Journey Begins

The first day of bringing my brand to life was electrifying. If you had told me at the beginning that not everything would go as planned, I would have advised, "You won't get everything right the first time, so take it step by step and let the brand evolve naturally." Despite knowing this, like any determined person, I tried to do it all at once.

My journey began at "Fox and Jane Salon," where I was not only the first hire but also the first manager. It was a golden opportunity to help shape the salon's direction from the ground up. This experience was invaluable, leading me to explore booth rental, where I became my own boss. I traveled the world, learning from Instagram hairdressing pioneers like Guy Tang, Rebecca Taylor, Bescene, and Behind the Chair. But eventually, I felt the urge to take everything I had learned and open my own salon.

Just like you, I started with booth renters but soon realized that to fully realize the salon's potential, I needed to switch to employing commission stylists. So, we made the shift, and though it was a big change, it marked the beginning of a new era for us.

I dove into learning everything I could about finance, marketing, and leadership to build a strong brand. We invested a lot of money and went through a trial-and-error phase, which was daunting, especially not knowing if we would make it through.

Dealing with debt when opening a store was a real test of my resilience and tolerance levels. I found myself working 80 hours a week, juggling existing clients, welcoming new ones, learning new strategies, and building a team. The questions of how to attract new clients and manage our debt were always on my mind.egan...

And the story begins…
